this is where i almost stopped reading ....... and actually the fukked up thing is halo actually does take strategy as you can just gun ho run and gun and your gernade game has to be on point but watch videos of halo 1 on pc vs halo 1 on xbox and you will see the difference , sniping , pistol on a whole another level on pc....
but to say halo is fast paced is completely false. its the slowest of the mainstream shooters and really the key to halo is to simply not really aim at all you just have to properly strafe....(sniping being the exception)
and wtf are you talking about they use other game modes? for the halo 4 championship they started with a free for all then 1 on 1 so that theirs no unfair game-play advantage that exist in other game-modes.
Halo PC has never been as big as the console version. I don't care if there is no auto aim or whatever...only PC nikkas took it seriously....the majority of players including the really good players were always on consoles.
Halo 1 is fast paced. The pace of the game may have slowed a bit with the sequels and it wasn't Quake fast but Halo 1 wasn't slow paced. I'm not sure how much Halo 1 you actually played...but it was not slow paced. The pistol killing in 0.6 seconds with a 3 shot kill if you had perfect aim (which was difficult to have), the powerup usage (grenading them to yourself all over the maps), power weapons that were really powerful in the right hands. Far from slow paced. Halo 3 is slow paced. Halo is not.
Does this look slow to you?
These other titles like Battlefield and COD have a bunch of shyt going...but they aren't necessarily faster. The only thing consistently fast in those games are the kill times...one trigger press is usually all you need to get a kill which promotes camping. Unless you are playing objective gametypes..u don't need to move. Deathmatch/Slayer in Halo promotes movement because you need to get power ups and power weapons to win. You spawn with the best weapons in COD/Battlefield...you don't in Halo. that is oen of the reasons why Halo is faster than those two games...players HAVE to move which promotes more encounters.
Also the Halo 4 championship was designed as a FFA tourney that transitioned into a 1v1 towards the end to come up with a winner. Also, If you read what i said clearly Halo has always been the only console shooter where slayer is used in tournaments because it took more skill than COD/Battlefield versions of the same gametype.
