Halo and other FPS like COD have dedicated traditional campaigns in which you play levels and events, and even use weapons that you can't use or experience in multiplayer. They are fully separate experiences.

The campaign in destiny whether you are playing alone (which you can't really do cause you have to be online) or with a group is the same as the non-campaign stuff. No dedicated levels, areas, or experiences.

If you are always online, you are not playing by yourself :francis:
I can tell that you do not know what you're talking about in relation to Destiny. It's cool, I'll break it down for you.

-There are weapons/relics are PVE exclusive in Destiny like any other game.
-PVE and PVP are fully separate experiences in Destiny
-The game being always online doesn't mean you cannot play it by yourself

You're wrong on so many levels. Titanfall and Destiny do not share much of anything in common, outside of the fact that they are both online only games. I'd say 80 to 90% of Destiny's PVE can be played by yourself. And 100% of the Story Missions can be played by yourself. You're reaching and I don't even understand why.

Is Destiny campaign comparable to a COD or Battlefield game?

I'd say Destiny's campaign isn't like those though, because those are linear and you go in an order as to what you beat. Start a mission 1 and go through mission 20 or whatever and done.

That's not the case with Destiny, but other than that, it's still does what a campaign is supposed to do. Gives you some cutscenes, background story, lore, character interaction, boss fights, teaches the player the gameplay mechanics etc...

So Destinys "campaign" was simply story placed on top of the normal gameplay as I said.

Destinys campaign is the same gameplay as everything else in the game.

well yeah, what do you expect? a dating sim campaign?

the bolded couldn't be more wrong breh. PVE and PVP content is completed different maps, just on the same planets. there are 3 little side missions when the Taken King released where you unlocked the new subclasses by killing enemies on one of the multiplayer maps but thats it. literally everything else is different

and yes, you can enter zones on each planet populated by no one but you, and the main bulk of each quest has a Darkness Zone that completely seperates you from randoms that might be in your server. no random person on your server can help you finish a mission

Titanfall 1s 'story mode' was still PVP on the same maps as the non-story mode
Destiny's story mode is strictly PVE and are on seperate maps than the PVP content

they are not the same. gear and weapons are the same in both PVE and PVP cuz its a shared character in both modes, but so are the gear and weapons in every other game just with a different unlock system

Again you are only describing the difference between a co-op and a competitive multiplayer experience.

Destinys "campaign" is PVE on the same map, with the same weapons, and the same enemies as the rest of the non campaign stuff.

One game is centered around pvp, the other around PVE. Both are just the general gameplay loop with story stuff on top.

Neither of them is a traditional campaign, ala COD or battlefield.

Meach in here actin dumb. :mjlol:

nikka, Destiny SP and Larryfall was nothing the same.

Stop it. Slime
They are similar, in that it's just the multiplayer gameplay with story on top, as opposed to a separate dedicated campaign.

Don't know why that idea is so lost on Yall. Destinys main criticism was that the campaign wasn't a true fleshed out campaign. Just Tyron Lanister commentating a strike mission for you.

Now me saying this has Yall acting like I'm saying something new.

There's no way in hell you can compare what destiny offers to something like a Halo campaign. :martin:

rhetorical question, but have you played The Taken King? Because you saying this clearly shows you don't really know what you're talking about. You read about and maybe even played the old campaign and have no idea how things have changed since then. do your googles.

here's a hint: whatever it is that you mean by "non campaign stuff" is actually all tied to the main campaign. actual non campaign stuff like the Crucible, Iron Banner, and Trials of Osiris have separate maps, mission, and obtainable gear
