In hindsight (since I only listened to the record a months ago--for the first time) Love Below wasn't that good, IMO. Great production, though.
And I just copped The Carnival.
That's why I asked your opinion. I got both of their "experimental" joints.

Their eclectic artistry that got praised initially by white music critics could be seen as just knockoffs of older artist and nothing that innovative. In fact they didnt so much push Hip Hop as abandon it and adandon it for them just sounding like tribute acts rather than anything groundbreaking.
Clef and Dre were hit with Bobby Marley/Prince Wannable labels for a reason.

I've not heard cacs praise Wyclef as some creative genius, just a good artist and a dope producer and he's been singing since his youth. Who was he ripping with Gone to november or any song on The Carnival or the album that followed that? Who is this blatantly ripping off?
The only jacking he's done was the obvious Bob Marley cover of No Woman no Cry. Being black and using an accosting guitar makes you a swagger jacker or someone?

You most certainly did when the Score and Carnival dropped. And when you hear what he was trying on call 9/11 with his vocals you could tell he was trying to strain his voice like Bob did form time to time with minimal results.
As for Andre , all you need do is look at Love Below and after. Particularly Idlewild;s soundtrack and the awful back in black cover with Beyonce.

Wyclef has been singing like that, and lol @ Dylan like he's the only one who sings, Dylan was in his video and that was about it.

Same style, different topic, as a Bob Dylan stan I have a very hard time seeing the resemblance. Might as well name any dude who ever did acoustic or down scaled instrumental singing.

Both him and Cee-lo evolved completely natural, I think Cee-lo evolved a bit quicker but they were both moving naturally to where they are.

I disagree with the prince comparison's for Andre 3K.
If we're talking abut the way he dresses ? Sure.

nikka MOTM 2 is in my top 3 of the past decade, I can fukk with rock,it's like 80% of what I listen to, but that song I can't fukk with. Basic guitar riff,no buildup to it which I hate..song was too quiet for me.
