....he knows how to make a QB look goodcause gus malzhan is a qb genius right![]()

We just gonna let one year where we had damn near no receivers cloud the past decade of schemes that Malzahn has created?

Their considered Gimmick offenses because they wouldn't work in the NFL
Carolina has been running much of the core principles of the 2010 attack. Inverted veer, read option, two back sets (they use an actual TE instead of a HB like us), down hill play action passing offense. Hurry up offense, and you huddle.Their considered Gimmick offenses because they wouldn't work in the NFL. But their prefect for College FB & High School FB.

Pretty much everything Carolina did to make this offense more comfortable around Cam came from Malzahn's 2010 scheme.

Those are only his schemes at Auburn and that wasn't the scheme for Chris Todd who put up solid numbers or Sean White who put up about 250 passing a game with tons of drops (outside of the last game)Schemes based on running 1st and read options? I wouldn't declare that being a qb genius

Even if you do believe that, which doesn't matter because it isn't true from an overall perspective, his career didn't start at Auburn. You do know that right? Dude had the number one passing attack at Tulsa at least once, pretty sure it was twice though.OK if he's a QB genius so is Saban
Auburn QBs suck as passers![]()

You want me to name successes on the national level or college like his job states? Chris Todd, Ryan Aplin, Marshall (was one of the most efficient passers since the LSU game in 2013 and was solid in 2014), Cam, Paul Smith, and David Johnson. All except the Tulsa QBs weren't good before he came and he made schemes around their strengths and made them work. The Tulsa QBs were developed by Malzahn.I do know that. But show me the great passers Malzahn has produced. He runs an option attack and everything plays off of that. He's not producing a QB who can step back and slang it with good mechanics and good defensive secondary reading skills. He wants and is taking athletic cats who can run the read option and then throw the ball up and get it down field. Doesn't matter how he throws just that he throws it far. I mean other than Cam (who's not a great passers himself) name a half successful passer under Gus.
and to echo this, the only reason gimmick offenses don't work in the NFL is when they are forced to mask a QB's inability to make multiple reads/go through his progressions. If combined semiconservatively with pro style offenses they are that much more deadly, especially when you have a QB like Cam who can make all the reads and all the right throws. It just means you as a DC have to gameplan for more offensive trickery while respecting the conventional passing ability as well.Carolina has been running much of the core principles of the 2010 attack.
