It's harder to dominate in golf like other sports. It's you versus the field, no such thing as superstar calls, no teammate to bail you out if your having a bad game, it's a four round tournament so you have to play well for 4 days.

It's really about how you perform vs the field.

If that's the case then Tennis has a better say for it's athletes being ahead of golfers in regards to these qualifiers. It's you vs the field and it's way more physically demanding than golf.

Its hard for me to compare greats of different sports. In golf, there's no defense. And I know people like to prop up winners in 1v1 sports as greater athletes, but I can't as 1v1 sports miss out on the leadership aspect of team sports.
Sometimes leading yourself is just as hard or harder.

I'm so clueless about Golf

How can someone start getting into Golf? Are the majors they have similar to the Major slams of Tennis?

It can be, but I think the opposite can also be true. They both present their own challenges that I don't think make things as easy as "You can't rely on others", because for the greats in team sports is also "You have to motivate others"

Both can be true. It isn't one or the other. But I think individual sports get downplayed more than propped up in this regard.

Interesting, I felt the opposite, cause whenever people bring up boxers or tennis players, they talk about how they don't have to lean on others.
