You named two women out of billions that's ever lived who didn't go around saying "Self Love" and you think that you made a point?
It sounds like you're unhappy that she realized that life's short, realized that she was unhappy and didn't want to continue being it.
Unfortunately many women are finding "Self-Love", just look at the divorce rates and who's filing for divorce.
Woman just aren't using the term "Self-Love", but it's the same thing. They realize that they're unhappy and don't want to live the rest of the lives being unhappy so they get divorced because they put their happiness first.
Men do the same thing. Most relationships end because one person isn't happy with the way that the relationship's going and they leave to make themselves happy.
They just don't use the term "Self-Love" but in essence that's what it is.

If he was doing something to directly damage the relationship (cheating, verbal abuse, physical abuse) then just say that because breaking up your family over “self-love” sounds more like selfishness especially when kids are involved.
