I just came fro the hospital to see my grandma, i made a thread while back saying she was in ICU....will basically shes about to pass away....its sad by she did live a long time, some ppl dont make past infant stage....but my point is...u never know when ur gonna go, so u might as aswell find a lifestyle that will make u happy....and anybody can do that with all the technology we have .....just gotta chase that shyt with no fear
I don't completely agree with dismissing all of our elders but a lot of them don't seem to realize life in America is different than it was 30 years ago

Alotta old people were just like you when they were younger and it didn't work out for them so they're trying prevent younger people from suffering the same fate
What you're saying is real but don't think you can just upset the game walkin in the front door and think they'll just let you in. You're plottin Ocean's 11 and you gotta treat it as such. Time and resources are not on your side. That's why people don't give out game in the open like you were complaining about in that other thread. It's like telling everybody there's a backdoor, next week you come back now the back door got a bouncer too

Man if this ain't the truth. My parents are old fashioned Jamaican immigrants. Because of them I am in debt. It's my fault first and foremost because I fell to the pressure by them. Now I got this car loan that I don't want, and I gotta pay for these student loans from a place that I dropped out of after a year. They try to steer me in the path THEY want when I want to make a different path that I want. I done tune them the fukk out now whenever they try to give me advice in regards to my future. They don't know what's going on today, in this new world we live in. I'm only taking advice from successful black millennials like my soon-to-be brother in law. You gotta know for yourself how you wanna play this game called life.

Good advice, but the way I look at it is don't scoff at anyone's advice pick and choose what you think works and adapt it to your life since everyone is on a different path.

who are these old people like OP? Every old person I know didn't take any risks. They did normal jobs like military, post office, college, etc. And unless OP is like 40 or something, he has more than enough time to become successful. Now it's OP's fault if he doesn't use his time wisely.

He has his FAA certificate and he has this supervisory position at JFK airport. Nothing too fancy or top notch but that's still motivation for me.
You can't define success. It's relative. Besides, how many black pilots under 30 do you see out here in the US? I'll wait.you call that successful?
