What bottom line, airlines are notoriously unprofitable

They do have a large amount of political capital in this country and other states/districts could easily woo them away if they feel spited by their reps.
Can they control the narrative here? No probably not.

If they were truly smart ... the GOP would understand that the best way to get rid of Obama-care would be to replace it with something that insures more folks for less money and call it GOP-care or CRUZ-care or whatever. But NOT take this current, stupid Cruz shutdown strategy.

The GOP may lose the next several elections because of this.

I work for the government. As far as I know is, the republicans are against the ACA because of its spending. What I want to know is, what does "fairness in Obamacare" means in which the speaker keeps referring too. It all seems fair to me, people get their fair medical insurance. I just wanted to know the issues involving it.

I have heard a lot of things from the rethugs over the years

1. ACA will destroy the economy and force big businesses to hire PT employees.
2. Violation of Constitution.
3. Increase in taxes.

Weird part about this the people that support the rethugs in congress need ACA. :mindblown:

Watching the GOP crumble to ashes since the day Obama has walked into that White House has been a fukking treat.

I almost pity them...their stupidity is baffling.

There is no "win" here dude. Why won't someone in the GOP just say that? That there is nothing to be gained by opposing Obama at every turn, especially in the case of this healthcare shyt.

They are fukking gift wrapping the Presidency for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and U.O.E.N.O.

They're letting the most ignorant and backwards ass thinking people speak for the entirety of their party and it's dooming them for decades to come. Not years, not cycles, I'm talking DECADES.

I really really hope that you're right, but I don't underestimate the power of stupid people to vote against their interests.

What I really don't understand, and maybe someone can explain it, is why the hell to the Republicans oppose Obama at every single turn when the guy is pretty much a George H. Bush when it comes to policy. Obama isn't really that progressive, and he's even catered to the GOP before.

Does it honestly just boil down to racism? Or still playing the strategies that started from Lee Atwarer?

A few things libertarians advocate:

decriminalize all drugs
end victimless crimes
end all government subsidies
end imperialism
end entangling alliances
remove barriers to entry in the market
separation of church and state

to name a few...

I think there is a misconception about what libertarians represent...

All that is nice in theory. My biggest gripe with libertarianism is a practical one. I live in the south, in NC. If you leave the rights up to the states, you're gonna see some crazy shyt in certain places. NC has regressed so much in the past few years. There has been proposed legislation that would literally re-segregate public schools.

Is it really a good idea to regress and get rid of Civil Rights legislation? That's a big one for me, and I have yet to see a libertarian actually answer the Civil Rights problem. If we go to a Libertarian society, is it really just "Well, if Alabama wants to have Black and White lunch counters again, Black people can choose to eat somewhere else." ?

This is gonna sound nuts but, outside social pressures and greed will remove them.

If anyone actually believes that an openly racist business can succeed in todays market they are kidding themselves.

But this is HL, and we here all know cacs are all out to get us. :sadcam:

I am a firm believer that those people don't actually know what it is they are supporting though. The idea that most Americans don't know the issues doesn't come out of nowhere.

Republicans do an excellent job of redirecting the focus to issues that the common poor white person can get behind (so called family values, anti-minority rhetoric, etc.) that they never have to actually fully explain how their other economic and social stances would effect their constituents.
