I spent the past 2 weeks or so binging kdramas
Finally watched Signal and that show was a masterpiece. I don't think I've seen a time traveling show/movie handled that well in awhile. The performances in it was great and the plot kept me engaged throughout. I liked how the time periods connected with one another and the rules for time traveling worked well to keep the viewers engaged. The series had 16 episodes but time flies by due to how good the show is. I now understand the hype when people talk about it. Also liked the overall message of the show, and I assume many Koreans can relate to it because like western countries there's a serious class disparity issue when it comes to wealth, so i feel the theme of this show really hits hard for many. 10/10 show and it's def a top kdrama i will recommend to anybody that is looking to watch one
Gangam B Side - This show had a lot of potential due to it's strong cast and an interesting premise. However, the story falls apart imo and has major pacing issues. It felt it was going to tell an interesting story about sex workers and a case around it, but it feels it never goes where the story should've went. It felt like it was trying to be the worst of evil, but it didn't understand what made that show work. The action for the show is pretty good and it's only 8 episodes, so it's easy to binge, but it's one of those shows/films where you had high hopes and it falls flat. There's also some frustrating characters in this show that makes you want to yell at your screen lol. I still can't believe some of the decisions certain characters make and it feels certain stuff is done to drag on the show. Production and style is cool, but it could've been so much more. I will be generous and give it a 6.5/10 due to some of the action was cool
Business Proposal - I needed a change of pace and this show was it. It's your typical kdrama romcom, but I enjoyed the performances and cast was great. Kim Sejeong is special because she's one of those actresses that just commands my attention and her charm just worked in this show. I liked how the show portrayed wealth disparity. The premise of the show was solid and it def feels like one of those I can't believe it's all happening but it works. The romance in the show would be very problematic in the real world though lmao. The comedy in this show is good and pacing is good, but my only issue is the ending was a bit flat, but I think that usually happens with kdramas. I read they had to wrap up certain filming of the show due to covid, so I will give them a pass there. They really had a layup by ending on with the double wedding . I highly recommend this show if looking for a change of pace. It's a 9/10 for me
