yeah, the one I'm going to in Harlem isn't close to me either but I feel like getting to 125th is do-able, so I'll go outta my way to make the trip. But you can still open an account online from what I see

they got a branch in LA but anyone can open up an account online. (couple other black owned banks offer this too)

I been thinking of getting a Credit Card for months. So this thread got me thinking I might as well get a credit card with a Black-owned Financial institution.

Assuming you just have little credit and not terrible, I would say get the Discover IT card, they are very lenient with giving cards with decent limits. Use that for a year and then apply for a card at one of the black banks.
If you can't get the Discover it you probably can't get a bank card with a limit that's worth a damn. Worst case you may need to get a secured credit card and just use it to pay your cellphone bill and nothing else and pay it off in full every month for a year, after that try to.get a non secured car.
