Yes. In fact some experts think some will be on par with China. The issue is, how well will that wealth disperse? You will have really rich countries near really poor countries and this will create issues. All that aside, with many of the boomers steeping out of the way or outright dying, I think many of these countries will be for the better.

This too. I was baffled by how far Nigeria, for example, has come. Despite its issues, it has really developed. The main issue is that it does not focus enough on social programs to uplift its citizens. This is major issue in many of the places. They operate on a "bootstraps on steroids" mentality and like to have outside industries do all the developing until they are pressed. The fact that they have gotten as far as they have while fukking around is impressive by itself. A half-competent person would turn many places into a paradise.

The bolded is the absolute truth. A focused collective with competence at the helm will see a shift in how the world perceives African countries. It isnt hard, it's just with the current culture too many palms need to be greased.

Is the U.S “fully developed”? I’ve driven through parts of the rural South, Southwest and seen parts of Appalachia on TV….they don’t advertise those places in the media though :mjpls:

Not to mention tent cities in most major U.S cities.

If you've never been to an African country, then your take on this is useless. Been to Ghana three times, Nigeria twice, and Gabon and I will tell you that there are many areas in those countries that make America look 3rd world.

Tech has boomed and the health care system there has drastically improved since the past 20 years.

Yes, those countries have developed a lot of the past few years but that's an exaggeration. There are not many areas in those countries that make America look 3rd world.

I’m happy you said it before I did I was About to go off.

i think Rwanda is close. Kagame has done a lot to pull his Country up

Looks like Rwanda's going the Western satellite route. First Israel, now the UK. So yeah, they'll be good.

One-way ticket to Rwanda for some UK asylum seekers

One-way ticket to Rwanda for some UK asylum seekers

Some asylum seekers who cross the Channel to the UK will be given a one-way ticket to Rwanda under new government plans.

The pilot scheme will focus on single men arriving on boats or lorries.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the £120m scheme would "save countless lives" from human trafficking.

Refugee organisations have criticised the plan as cruel. They questioned its cost and impact and raised concerns about Rwanda's human rights record.

Mr Johnson said action was needed to stop "vile people smugglers" turning the ocean into a "watery graveyard", with the plan designed to break their business model.

"Our compassion may be infinite but our capacity to help people is not," he said. "We can't ask the British taxpayer to write a blank cheque to cover the costs of anyone who might want to come and live here."

Some parts of Nairobi will make some parts on NYC look like a 3rd world country and vice versa of course. Most of Cape Town shyts on 95% of the U.S.

Rwanda and South Africa and Botswana? This is a ludicrous thread based on years of western indoctrination.

There’s plenty of competence, need more integrity.

There are measurables like HDI. I think someone already mentioned earlier in the thread that’s what we should be comparing. Simply looking at urbanization is silly. But you're very right to call out income inequality in the U.S.

That’s why I asked because OP did not define development. If that is the metric, then only a fraction of the world is “fully developed”.

America is developed . It just doesn't update its infrastructure way out in the rural places. You go out in the bush in the 3rd world there is no running water or electricity even even in some of the urban areas.
Right most of the technology they bragging on about China was used to get built with US patents to the point the US been pressuring China to get patent laws to stop the copying.

Other than that the US aint 3rd world in anyway not even in the rural areas we jus got trash tax redistributions and strict urban planning laws
