Those of you with kids. How did you survive the terrible 2's and 3's?

We stopped going to restaurants for a minute. You learn to ignore home tantrums and tune a lot of it out.

My daughter would finish eating before everyone and that meant that everybody else was done too........she would start to spool up and we coped by taking turns walking her outside until we were all done eating......it was a quick phase but I still eat fast as shyt to this day

I still eat fast too. It’s like PTSD.

I don't have kids yet but this is all great advice for dealing with my mom and dementia

Play learning games with them and have fun with them and when they throw their tantrums, tell them you can't have fun when they're on demon time.

Don’t reward the tantrums. Don’t bargain. Set firm boundaries. My kid gives his mom crazy tantrums. I barely ever get a tantrum from him. And it really comes down to the above. She rewards his tantrums and lets him have the power (unknowingly). I tell him what’s up and and follow through. He can have emotions but there are times when he doesn’t get choices.

Do any of yall have grown kids? If so do you use the same tactics or ever admit when you're wrong or is it always the bottom line that it's the kids fault and you should never be direct with them? Cuz I don't like p*ssy footing around with anyone.

I also have a teenager. He calls me on my shyt and I have to dialogue with him so he doesn’t lose respect for me or resent me. We have had our battles. But he’s coming around. It’s worth it to admit when you’re wrong if you both know it. They’ll respect you more for it and keep coming to you with feedback and observations you can learn from as a parent.

most recent I asked one to do something and he was like ok then went in the pantry to grab a snack.

I checked him like yo; I just asked you 2 go do something....



he said I heard u right after this snack......


maaan I smacked that box out in his hand quick fast and got right in his face and said NAH; NOW

he was pretty shook; I waited until he dipped out the kitchen to pick it up
