I understand Good day to you sir
i understand that calling a movie like this "boring" opens the door for "hey idiot, go watch a Michael Bay movie, you idiot. Stupid fukkin idiot, splosions!!!!" but so be it. I didn't find it compelling at all, and I thought Steve Carrel - who is warranting award talk - sounded ridiculous and hammed it up.

I appreciated the 4th wall stuff, and was very engaged early as we met the characters but as it went on all i could think was "man, if i wanted to know all the ins and outs of this housing crisis, i could have read like 1 fukkin article about it." this shyt was a stylized boring documentary with some famous Hollywood faces mixed in. Had its moments, but you can keep it.

Also, though Adam McKay was in over his head with the directing as it wasn't a good looking movie to me. Bunch of weird cuts and transitions (probably intentional) and tons of shakey cam.

dont insult your own intelligence to say you thought the movie was trash breh :damn:
well when a movie like this is getting lauded with praise and it has "heavy" matter I just assume I'm the one who's in the wrong.

I read Moneyball, and I try to keep up on saber stats... but i didn't think Moneyball was a great movie. That shyt is overrated. How is that idea cinematic? Who the hell has gone back and re-watched something like Moneyball?

Never you mind....
The Big Short was disappointing :francis: I really wanted to like it but I didn't. Towards the end I was paying more attention to my tablet. The characters talking to the camera was cringe worthy instead of witty. It was interesting learning about the shady things banks do but this movie fell flat for me personally.

I have NEVER watched a western before (before my time, born in '91) but the idea has always intrigued me, so I watched The Hateful Eight last night. My girl went to sleep because she found it boring, but personally I was captivated by the atmosphere. I've always hated dialogue heavy movies with little to no action, and I definitely noticed the slow pacing, but it actually didn't bother me one bit. My girl isn't hip to QT so her hearing a bunch of cacs use the n word so freely had her like :dahell: but I reminded her that this the same cac that made Django. Not necessarily giving him a pass, but it is historically accurate and shyt so :yeshrug:.

Once the coffee was fukked wit I knew it was gonna be lit lol. This movie makes me want to go watch other westerns but I just can't get into movies made before the 90's (except scarface) because the cinematography is just :scust:. shyt be looking shot in 360p and all the special efx is just:francis:. Not even talking about the digital stuff but the makeup, costumes etc is just awful. If any good westerns have been made post 1992 then :feedme:.

But back on topic, nikkas need to go see The Hateful Eight. It wasn't what I was expecting at all, yet I was pleasantly surprised. Sam L acting is just:blessed:

So far I've watched:

The Hateful Eight, The Revenant, The Big Short, and Bone Tomahawk. Pair those with Star Wars and The Martian which I saw in theaters, and we're talking about 14 hours worth of movie. Now, I suspect I'm gonna be called an ADD riddled retard, but does every movie need to be pushing 2.5 hours? I was fine with the ones i saw in the theater, but didn't find any of the screener movies good enough to watch that long.

Revenant was a good movie, but I could have dozed off for 20 minutes and been none the wiser. The cinematography kept me interested. Hateful Eight is overrated as a mother fukker. That basically boils down to Sam's best performance in a decade and not much else for me. The Big Short was a fukkin adapted word problem. They literally dumbed it down for a viewer like me, and i still didn't find it all that entertaining or compelling. And Bone Tomahawk - which I'm just lumping in - was people walking with the occasional stupid over the top gore mixed in. Snooze.

Trying to decide which underwhelming screener to watch next. Spotlight sounds very intriguing, but I anticipate a 2.5 hour slog... we'll see.

I feel you on the length thing pause. I don't have a problem with long movies but I just don't see why everyone gotta be damn near 3 hours these days.

I'm watching Hateful Eighr now and it's looking like 2 hours and 47 mins:wow: I could never survive this is the theaters.

Watched Joy today and I must say I loved it just loved it. JLaw has an annoying voice but she's a great actress in my book and always finds her way into movies that flow nicely.

I hear ya, im in the industry (real estate agent) so I was really looking forward to it...while it did explain things very well, tHe subject matter is pretty dry, and tough to sit through for two hrs.

Naw but for real, any movie set in that racist ass time period gets the Camby unless some nikka is starring in it shytting on cacs. Last thing I wanna do is watch white privilege shoved in my face for entertainment. If that's the case I can just go apply for a job:wow:
