It's from "Black Rednecks and White Liberals". Excellent read/listen.
There isn't much of an angle to him. He's a black conservative, free market proponent. 90% of his views are on point. The remaining 10% he goes off the deep and crazy end especially with his hatred and jealousy of Obama.

I read the book and it’s terrible. Thomas Sowell is making a “culture” argument as to why the Black community is what it is today, and he’s wrong.
He doesn’t believe in wealth distribution that will help families, help fix Black schools, infrastructure etc, he believes in the “lift yourself by the bootstrap” rhetoric.

My question is, does he not know the economy was a lot different between the span of the late 1800s to now?
Does he not know his ancestors most likely had to work for whites in servitude to help provide for their families?
Does he not acknowledge that Black Americans were forced to live within their own communities? Does he not acknowledge that blacks during Jim Crowe were mostly limited to low wage jobs? I suspect that he actually want blacks to work hard to pass as white like Asians, Italians, and Jews have in America, despite our socio-economics .
