I always think these women (and some men) look like they're in stage makeup! The only time it's necessary to wear that much makeup (in my opinion--to each her or his own) is when you're acting, or for events (wedding, dances, photo shoots) where you'll be photographed heavily.
I'm 28, people still ask me when I'm graduating (or did I just graduate) from high school or literally drop their jaws when I show my ID to confirm my age. Why? Because I rarely wear makeup and what I do wear only enhances my features. A light CC cream, little blush, bronzer, lightly lined eye, mascara, lip balm. If I'm feeling really adventurous, I'll do a dramatic eye. I like the way I look and I want to just look like a more polished me, not an entirely different person. I like my skin to be able to breathe!!
The few times I've worn a lot of makeup were torture for me because my skin felt dirty. But I had to do it because I was on stage, and in weddings three times.
Too many people doing too much! Keep it simple.
