I gotta agree with a previous poster who said this was not true. The first thing that came to mind was that Adult Swim show "Metalocalypse." If that ain't a blatant mockery of a musical genre, I don't know what is. Sometimes people just gotta chill and laugh at themselves sometimes. It's good for the soul and the genre
I agree with your sentiments, I have no problem with laughing at myself, or any of that stuff.
But I get annoyed when people throw this "elitist, gatekeeper" nonsense around, when they don't seem to understand, that this so-called gatekeepers, and elitist. Have no influence, and have been tossed aside long time ago.
And now the people who actually control hip-hop, are the ones who have absolutely no respect at all for this thing.

Riff Raff is just a silly dude, his shyt is straight comedy but he does it with just enough confidence where you kinda have to respect his swag. He's basically what Stagga Lee was supposed to be in '02 on some party and dumb shyt vibe. To be honest though, as dumb as his lyrics are, they are not without some skill. He has a good flow and decent punchlines albeit his references are nonsensical at times.
