Vanessa Williams is over 60% African....Don Cheadle is less than 75% please tell what "75%" looks like :dead:

Vanessa Williams is 56% African and 44% euro and looks like how someone with that admixture would look like, not sure what bringing her up was supposed disprove.

And don cheadle is 81% African and looks like how some one with that Dna could look.

My black ass uncle who was born and raised in Ghana has a Scandinavian great grandmother, so I'm not suprised by that.

Tina turner looks like nothing but a straight black woman, yet is only 66% African. So I can only imagine this chicks Dna :francis:

This chick ain't sitting on 75% Africans Dna bruh :dead:

You're the only one breaking people down by percentage.

I'm saying in the U.S. most of us have varying percentage but by and large regardless we are black.

I'm not saying all people who are biracial are black either because her mother looks black to me as well.

There are tons of black women who look like this. At least the women I've known in my life anyway, but I'm not southern or from the north so maybe that's why. There are a lot of really mixed up black people in the U.S.

I'm not saying African either, though we are of African descent, but Black which tends to mean in the U.S. sense a different thing.

It's only recently that I've noticed that there are blacks who are saying that people who look like my family even are not black.

Nah yes they do.

I could tell off the street the chick is black in that picture.

There are tons of white dominicans and these ain't it.

I know there are different terms based on skin tones in spanish so maybe that's why y'all are saying they aren't black but thing is black immigrants don't understand the way the term black is used in the United States.

There are no different terms. Highest of yellow to blackest of black is all black. Straight or nappy hair.

Mixed is if you have a parent of a different race.

So yeah, these people look black to me.

This like people thinking Rihanna is biracial. .. not in the United States she's not.
What I find is that black people who are immigrants don't get why black americans call everyone black.

I get in Dominican Republican there's like Trigueno, morena, etc. But this is the U.S.

Y'all all black.

Unless of course your'e white. ..

This is such a problematic way of thinking :francis:

Except you're ignoring the Taino element with the Dominicans. Tainos are relatively dark so that ancestry combined with African is going to make dominicans dark.

AAs are less likely to have native ancestry than Dominicans, so if she was AA, I would be more inclined to think her African ancestry was higher.

And yeah I googled that shyt, you exeggarated the admixture in both of them, like I suspected u would :dead:

It's problematic to you.

Look, I get there are people on this site that are kind of extremist to me.

You guys want to eject anyone who has too much admixture out the "black" race.

Good luck with that.

I'm saying there are a lot of really mixed up, diverse black families out there.

What y'all are looking for are subcategories.

I don't have time for all that.

Pres. Obama is black to me, though I know he's biracial.

His daughters are definitely black to me but though if we were to go about this divide by admixture rule you guys are proposing we would either divide them from their father or create a whole other category for women like Sasha and Malia.

I don't have that kind of time nor desire.

My mother is the fairest skinned person in her family. She's as pale as Lena Horne with two black parents.

I have a cousin who was born with blond hair and fair skin with two black parents. He's lighter skinned than his brother who has a white mother. .

All this splitting hairs would give me a headache.

Again, where are you from?

the point is she looks nothing like that and few dominicans do.

:why::why::why:

Bruh, are you trolling me right now ?

How many times do I have to tell U I accept there's African ancestry in her, so she's obviously gonna look slightly different to the pure Tainos.

My argument is that I do not think the African Dna she has is enough to just call her black and nothing else.

you said 30 percent....thats Vaughn Raspberry type shyt. In the US, we don't subclass admixture unless biracial. She looks Blacker than many AAs and most Western Blacks are mixed anyway.

Look I grew up next to Oklahoma where there are lots of black and native mixed people.

So yeah. . .

I know that's strange for you to hear but if this woman said she was black I would believe her. I've seen tons of her before.

Rosie Perez says she's Afro Latino. She looks like this woman. . what's up???

I'm not saying she's not hispanic nor mixed up with native, african and european blood. I'm just saying, she looks like a black woman to me because well. ... lots of black people are mixed up with white, black and even native blood.
