He's a great artist. Avg emcee. He knows how to put together a whole song. Thats the quotable
I have never seen a so called great outshined on more tracks than Kenny.
He's a great artist. Avg emcee. He knows how to put together a whole song. Thats the quotable
And y’all buy Into this fake humble shytThe wild thing about this is that Kendrick went on record by saying he that he doesn’t want to be called the GOAT no more
Yeah, looking at his discography I’ve understood plenty of his songs speaking on him struggling to handle is wealth, the people around him, himself, alcoholism, smashing hoes, changing up on people, devilish temptation in general, failing the expectations from people close to him. His music makes him come off more as a person to me than a celebrity so it’s understandable why he releases after so long, it’s probably soooo much shyt that goes on between albums, I mean shyt Doeburger is fukking dead man! fukking doeburger, I pray for tde.I feel like people didn't listen to the album if they came away from it thinking Kendrick is buying into his own hype and becoming more pretentious. There's literally a song on the album where he talks about not being anyone's savior, and then the album ends with him saying that he was busy saving himself. "Like me when I'm pro black/But I'm more Kodak Black" was a line he said. I'm pretty sure he hates that people look at him as this godlike intellectual when he's spent the last couple years figuring his life out like the rest of us have.
Dude. Kendrick had the entire black panther soundtrack and that shyt was completely irrelevant to the entire fukkin movie. On top of that if it wasn’t for videos you wouldn’t know it was a black panther soundtrack. At least Beyoncé tried stick with the themeYea but acknowledging it doesn't mean he didn't still participate.
Kendrick is a lot like Jordan Peele. After Get Out Peele was thrust into this role of being the voice of horror/black social dynamics/allegory, the new Hitchcock, and so on. Peele openly rejected a lot of the claims thrown on him but he also definitely leaned into and embraced some of that shyt
Kendrick post TPAB has had the exact same trajectory. He'll say he's not all of these things, but the grandiosity of his work from TPAB on show traces of him still playing up some of the meta. Hell you could argue that his "Aw shucks I'm nobody special" energy is a part of the act
To be clear I'm not even saying it's bad to be artistic or play up concepts. I think hip hop has always lacked for conceptual works so Kendrick is doing a good thing overall. But when you look at TPAB and DAMN, the artistry worked in tandem with the music. Even if you found those works pretentious the music itself could stand alone in filling basic hip hop requirements. This shyt is about bass and bars at the end of the day
With Mr Morale the balance is off because it leans heavy on the artistry while the music is not carrying it's weight. It makes shyt like the Kodak Black line look more contradictory because you're screaming "I'm not this pretentious, pro black emissary y'all think I am" on the most pretentious project of your career
Weird fukk nikkas like you always track the order of posts and not the fact I’m responding to posts. Then y’all complain about posts on message boardThis man has four back-to-back-to-back-to-back posts in this thread. Always been a weirdo.
“He’s just like us ”Yeah, looking at his discography I’ve understood plenty of his songs speaking on him struggling to handle is wealth, the people around him, himself, alcoholism, smashing hoes, changing up on people, devilish temptation in general, failing the expectations from people close to him. If Peter Rosenberg is the guy in your corner, you lostAs I’ve stated before, people go out of their way to compliment Kendrick albums on everything but the actual rapping
He has no memorable verses, no memorable videos, mid albums and very few quotables. I like GKMC as much as the next guy but that’s where it ends for me. He’s been propped up by mainstream media as the best rapper to ever sag his pants but he’s not in the top 25 realistically.
It’s not that serious my guy. He isn’t my savior…And y’all buy Into this fake humble shyt
If Peter Rosenberg is the guy in your corner, you lost
The machine chose Kendrick. The streets chose Drake. This is what people don’t understand.
Kendrick can’t do THIS
