They should have waited and turned Cena heel at WM to win the belt. Give him a summer run with the belt and have him drop it at SummerSlam.

I was listening to The Lapsed Fan podcast and they were talking about Cena's heel turn and how they would have booked it and one thing that stood out to me was that Jack & JP said they would have booked it with Cena after turning heel at the Elimination Chamber to NOT show up again until Night 2 of WrestleMania when he wins the title for the 17th time.
Had me thinking... could have that worked? With Cena not around they just have Cody out there every week angry, upset and constantly making angry unhinged promos to the point where his angry emotions get the best of him causing him losing the title at WrestleMania. Also having weekly backstage segments with R. Truth walking around wearing Cena's gear looking depressed and confused wondering why his hero has turned to the darkside and Truth keeps doing it until Cody runs into him backstage and out of anger he snaps on Truth attacking him hospitalizing him because Cody can't get his hands on Cena.
AFTER Cena wins the title he makes his appearance on the Raw After Mania episode to FINALLY cut a promo to explain everything and why he aligned with the Rock.... oh yeah have Rock out there with him but leave Travis's ass at home.

Nah. Even tho' Jey Uso is proof that IWC opinions mean way less than people think they do, the complaining that would have gone on over Cena never showing up on TV for two months til the show would have been unbearable. They're explaining feuds on TV every week and people are still on these apps talkin' about "ThIs dOesNt MaKe sENSe"... Cena turning heel and never explaining it verbally would have been the root of a million silly ass thinkpieces. It woulda been some ultimate heel type shyt to do but this hypercritical 2025 rasslin' crowd is not cut out for that at all.

Hogan’s saw the landscape realized his career & gimmick were on the decline and made the decision to tell Bischoff, Hall, & Nash that he needed a heel turn. The man was wise beyond his years
Cena is not hogan, Cena was/is still over he legitimately had no reason to turn heel unless there’s an outside force story wise or bad booking. Imagine if Hogan had the, Whatcha Gonna Do Brother” Farewell Tour and leg drops Savage, it’s too convoluted. Since Cena’s return he hasn’t won a match and was still cheered. Why turn him unless you need a heel for Cody. You may think it’s a good idea that’s cool but I don’t, it just seems poorly executed to me.
