You wonder why they don't go to Illinois? Really?

I wanna know why tho. Any posters from Chicago on here know the reason why these kids don't wanna go to Illinois? When Dee Brown and Luther Head stayed home they were good. In the late 80s with Marcus Liberty, Nick Anderson and a couple other cats. Imagine if D.Rose, Sherrod Collins, Evan Turner and a couple other Chi-Town kids went to Illinois. Remember reading that it had to do with HS coaches in the city did not like Illinois and how the recruiting scene was corrupt.

In Weber's case, he was simply a poor recruiter who lacked charisma to bring kids there. But as far as Illinois missing out on top tier talent, it's pretty much what you said.

2005 was such a great year for us.

I graduated from there the year before we made our run to the championship. That comeback against Arizona is one of the best GAMES I've ever seen!

We were mobbing down Green St. and Quad that night and some dumb white chick decided it was a good idea to climb the walls on Foellinger hall and stood there trying to be a cheerleader or some shyt.
The chants quickly changed to "flash your titties" and I think she obliged.
I don't know why I remember that, tho.

Man it's shyt like that I missed out on. I should've just stayed down there an extra semester and graduated in May, but I was already a semester behind when I graduated in December of '04 and didn't wanna be 23 when I graduated (stupid young logic).

Weber couldn't recruit for shyt. Duke Memphis and KU poached all their talent in the late 00s. Duke still does.

He has a point. UofI is a nice school/campus. They would be a powerhouse if the coaches could consistently bring in the state's top talent.
