The only two other big city/big market teams remaining, the Blue Jays and the Mets -haven’t won a World Series title after 2000. The Mariners never won a WS ever.

In basketball, Bucks/Spurs/Raptors/Cavs/Lakers/Warriors/Mavericks/Celtics/Heat/Pistons won after 2000 but not the Bulls, Wizards, Suns, Knicks, Pacers, Sixers

In football, Seahawks/Patriots/Eagles/Ravens/Giants/Chiefs/Broncos won after 2000 but not the Vikings/Dolphins/Cowboys/Ravens/Lions/Jets/Browns/Commanders/49ers/Bills/Texans.

In hockey, original 6 teams like the Bruins/Red Wings/Blackhawks won after 2000, but not the Canadiens/Maple Leafs/Rangers/Flyers.

I was impressed about the turnout of the 2019 Raptors parade, it was spectacular and massive itself. But a leafs parade would definitely attract a much bigger crowd than the raptors one. It would draw at least 10x more people. People forget that the Leafs are still # 1 in the GTA sports/media market, are the second oldest professional sports team in the city (behind the Argonauts of the CFL) and have deeper and older roots in the city’s culture. Toronto would be completely shut down. Everyone in Ontario would move out here and take over the city. Every transplant from Ontario living in UK, USA, China and rest of English speaking Canada (except Quebec) etc would invade the city for a Maple Leafs Stanley cup parade. Leafs nation has deep numbers in Atlantic provinces, Alberta, British Columbia. Quebec is the exception, it’s the province with the fewest members of Leafs nation because they’re a heavily French speaking, nationalist and proud province who loves the Habs, their local team, with religious fervor and passion. And they hate anything that comes out from Toronto( ok except maybe the Jays and the Raps because they don’t have local options/alternatives in these sports leagues )
