This is extremely premature, but if Sam Darnold and the Vikings play this well for the rest of the season, what will they do with JJ Mccarthy?

While all the situations are different from each other, most tough QB decisions/controversies, favor the young guy.
Young/Montana
Bulger/Warner
Brady/Bledsoe
Rivers/Brees
Rodgers/Favre
Mahomes/Smith

Yeah, actually

He ain't did shyt his whole career. The least he could do is take that type of deal so the rest of team can eat too.

If he doesn't take it, tell his ass to kick rocks and they develop JJ. It ain't like Sam Darnold is a hot commodity, Kevin O Connell is the latest QB whisperer.

Has this type of situation happened recently? Where a teams first round pick never got a chance to play because the so called bridge qb turned out better than expected?
I mean we had situations like Matt Flynn who signed a deal with Seattle and lost his job to Russell Wilson but that was a free agent situation.

Darnold is eating off of a top flight receiving core and a good system. Very QB friendly. Look at Cousins in Atl. Not the same guy. Coaching and personnel is so important.
