Something has to give somewhere. To do a 1-16, you have to remove divisions and conferences completely and play a somewhat balanced schedule, each opponent 2-3 times. That means more travel. That means more back to backs. That means some really shytty road trips. And you'll still have people complaining that the schedule wasn't fair because one team got more home games against good teams while another team had to play good teams on the road more often.

Woulda been WAY better than what we're getting. Just about every first round series woulda been interesting and possibly competitive besides GS/Chi and SA/Port.

Round two coulda gave us:

GS/Wash
OKC/SA
Cle/Mil

Golden state is beating Washington in 5 or less
Cleveland is beating Mil in 5 or less
SA is beating OKC in 5 or less

All this does is put the Cavs and Warriors in the confrence Finals and makes the NBA Finals totally irrelevant

But some of those first rounders would be nice. That GS vs WAS matchup, Wall vs Curry...
