Video game companies are sort of like chicks. A chick is gonna do what you let her get away with and if she peeps you'll tolerate something she's gonna see how far she can push that. Once you cross a certain threshold she will lose respect for you place you in the simp category and its a wrap. You'll "loan" her $20 today then next month she ask for $100 and a couple of weeks later there's an emergency and she needs $500.

We let them do this to us and show them we'll tolerate it and they're gonna push it till it breaks.

Oh you'll buy Rock Band Beatles? Well how about Guitar Hero Areosmith and 10 Tony Hawk games? When gamers get tired of the bs and speak with their wallets the crap gets cut.

Gaming got this bad because gamers were pushovers who let companies get away with whatever and rationalized and justified corporate bullhsit.
:pachaha: Remasters sound like a personal affront to you man.. And your analogy makes no sense because what is this dude getting in return for "loaning" the chick money??

For every remaster made, the consumer actually gets something in return for the money spent... Also.. companies don't get what they want since not every remaster has huge demand. The Jet Set Radio HD remaster I heard didn't sell so good so there was no "pushing over" here.

You act like EVERY remaster are nothing more than a simple resolution update which is absolutely nonsense.

For example, GTA V launched literally right around the corner from PS4/XB1.. It was a great game but come on man, those graphics and that performance wasn't cutting it. Those consoles clearly were running at their limit. A year later, GTA V comes out with OBVIOUS upgrades to the visuals/performance and new content that imo was justifiable.

The current gen version besides the significant visual boost added:

1st person mode with brand new controls and animations
30 player Online Cap instead of 16
New Single Player Missions
New Vehicles
New Ingame events
New Weapons
New Online Modes
etc.

Not to mention, this is on a brand new console that has arguably a better OS, streaming support and a better controller. Remasters are perfectly fine and I will continue to buy those that interests me. Nobody is forced to buy remasters, so this whole "vote with your wallet" shyt is stupid. People WANT these remasters. Hell, I want a freaking Jet Set Radio Future Remaster since it's only on the OG Xbox but I don't want to buy a old ass Xbox just to play that game.

The analogy is this. You have someone you deal that that will literally do whatever you let them get away with. You give them an inch and they will look for the mile and beyond and deep down they don't respect you because you gave them that inch.

GTA V was released in three waves to maximize sales from repeat buyers. At most step of the way Rockstar wouldn't confirm the existence of the next release. Meaning when it came out on PS3/360 they wouldn't even acknowledge a PS4/One version in the works and then the PC version was staggered to 6 or so months after that.

How many people purchased the game on the PS3 then the PS4 and then even the PC? How many would have waited had they known the next release was coming. I don't know about you but I wouldn't have bought GTA V on the PS3 had I known a year later it was gonna be on the PS4. I would have just waited.

I'm done getting milked by these companies. Done with them selling me old games at inflated prices. I will buy a remaster a year or two later when the bottom has fallen out on the price like how I got God of War Saga for like $10 at Walmart on a Black Friday.

Let's not pretend like the PS3 doesn't have a PS2 emulator on it that Sony themselves created and somewhat disabled. Hell if you hack a PS3 without the built in BC you can play PS2 games on it but a retail PS3 can't.

There's no real reason for a non-hardware enabled BC emulator on the PS4 even that can play some of these old games. The reality of it is this. They can make more money selling you old games at inflated prices than they can putting backwards compatibility in consoles. Backwards compatibility used to be an industry standard feature. It's virtually dead now.

Shocking news at 10! Game companies are in business to make profit!!

It was obvious what they were doing. They've always done that. NOthing surprising.

I doubt most would wait. Maybe some but most wanted GTA V right then and there. Hell, I'd say everything turned out fine, GTA V was really upgraded for current gen and PC.

Wait.. is that the footsteps of the people with options I hear?? OPTIONS.. :ohhh:

Duhhhh!!! Selling old games as "arcade" versions with achievements and cross play is all the rage these days. That's different from actual remasters that are imo perfectly fine. Something like FFVII remaster is a slap in the face, not GTA V or even TLOU remaster. FFVII could've just been a game compatible with a PS1 emu on PS4 but we know again why they did that.

Xbox One biggest game is "remaster". :snooze:

"Netflix - Last Played 7 hours ago"
"Amazon Instant Video - Last Played 5 Days ago"
