Remasters sound like a personal affront to you man.. And your analogy makes no sense because what is this dude getting in return for "loaning" the chick money??Video game companies are sort of like chicks. A chick is gonna do what you let her get away with and if she peeps you'll tolerate something she's gonna see how far she can push that. Once you cross a certain threshold she will lose respect for you place you in the simp category and its a wrap. You'll "loan" her $20 today then next month she ask for $100 and a couple of weeks later there's an emergency and she needs $500.
We let them do this to us and show them we'll tolerate it and they're gonna push it till it breaks.
Oh you'll buy Rock Band Beatles? Well how about Guitar Hero Areosmith and 10 Tony Hawk games? When gamers get tired of the bs and speak with their wallets the crap gets cut.
Gaming got this bad because gamers were pushovers who let companies get away with whatever and rationalized and justified corporate bullhsit.
For every remaster made, the consumer actually gets something in return for the money spent... Also.. companies don't get what they want since not every remaster has huge demand. The Jet Set Radio HD remaster I heard didn't sell so good so there was no "pushing over" here.
You act like EVERY remaster are nothing more than a simple resolution update which is absolutely nonsense.
For example, GTA V launched literally right around the corner from PS4/XB1.. It was a great game but come on man, those graphics and that performance wasn't cutting it. Those consoles clearly were running at their limit. A year later, GTA V comes out with OBVIOUS upgrades to the visuals/performance and new content that imo was justifiable.
The current gen version besides the significant visual boost added:
1st person mode with brand new controls and animations
30 player Online Cap instead of 16
New Single Player Missions
New Vehicles
New Ingame events
New Weapons
New Online Modes
etc.
Not to mention, this is on a brand new console that has arguably a better OS, streaming support and a better controller. Remasters are perfectly fine and I will continue to buy those that interests me. Nobody is forced to buy remasters, so this whole "vote with your wallet" shyt is stupid. People WANT these remasters. Hell, I want a freaking Jet Set Radio Future Remaster since it's only on the OG Xbox but I don't want to buy a old ass Xbox just to play that game.
