On top of all of this, we aren't even getting good games, outside of the Wii U. Last year was a bad year for games. Granted, I haven't played DA:I yet (it's of course broken), but nothing really stood out, except Wii u games.

The Wii U has outstanding games but honestly at times I wish I could play them on next gen consoles. I prefer the UI of PS4/XB1 over the Wii U and it's lack of online options for most of it's games annoy me. Smash Bros Wii U is probably my most played game so far within the last few months yet it's barebones when it comes to online features. The best games that dropped all came out on last generation already.
And the most anticipated games are sequels of last gen titles with graphical upgrades... can't even get a tech jump with the frames per second. 1080p/30fps is not what was hyped going into this gen. Destiny is the only game that I've put mad time in that's not on PC so far this gen. And even with that game, I'm still disappointed that it's only 30fps
This gen if you REALLY want 60fps for most of your games, simply have a PC on deck and cop games for cheap. Most of these "30fps" games on PS4/XB1 at least are being held back by cross gen development. Destiny ain't even as good looking as Killzone Shadowfall yet that game at least had 60fps or close to it at times. Also devs prioritize immersion and graphics over framerates which only a minority of people care about.
It's easier to sell someone on a game that looks like this all while getting the "this is next gen
" accolades
over a cleaned up game looking like MGR at 60fps.
This would get the "This looks like a PS3 game
" comment.

Well the fact that both consoles, specifically the PS4 had a GPU that was comparable to cards that can run games at that resolution and framerate led a lot of people to believe that games would be able to get there. Not even 1080p, but the lack of 60fps games is fukking ridiculous. What DICE did with BF4 on console needs to be commended. These other devs need to get their shyt together period.
I don't think the average gamer cares about 60fps. They'd rather see pretty graphics.
Most of these games on the ps4/x1 sacrifice fps for graphics. I think it's because it's what the people want (otherwise, why would they be doing it?)
Pretty much mirrored my thoughts on this gen thus far. Disappointing. Not on the front of game releases, but how everything has been handled so far.
