Gonna need more than just 2-3 new mods lol. Even with things as closed as off as they are now shyt moves super fast, especially in TLR. As for the tik tok embeds - that plus a whole slew of upgrades. There's a decent skeleton here but it needs some serious work.

Only reason to open up the flood gates would be to add to the CPM and ad $$$$$$$$$$$$. And if our owners want to do that then I can't hate. Since they've kept the forum relatively censor free when they could easily shut down the controversial shyt and go after big money forum sponsorships by being mainstream.

The argument against is that there's not a single 'Guest' that's going to add anything to the conversation if registered.

Hell naw, they can just grab random names of posters and use them. Terrible idea.

We need younger posters. I started posting at 17 on AHH. Hip hop forums need young blood and always have but they tend to say silly shyt and get banned a lot.

There's a football forum, Redcafe. It's about Manchester United, it's a forum for their fans. So anyway back in the day they had an interesting system to maintain the quality of their forum. New members had to spend time in their own section, they couldn't join the major boards. So all the new people just spent time talking with each other on their own.

The new forum was moderated by the same mods who looked after the main sections, and every once in a while they would pick out like 10 or 20 of the best contributors and promote them to the main forums.

So the new member section was like the place to vet new members and make sure only the real get through the selection process and join up with the rest of the community.

We could do something like that here, use the Bushes as the place for the new people to prove themselves in. Or at least we could if we had moderators with the power to actually do that sort of management. Regardless of how possible it is to actually do over here, it's a really good system to force the new people to prove themselves before joining us. It's sort of like the mafia, you know, you don't get to be a made man straight away. You have to put in the work for many years as an associate first, show that you're good enough and worthy of becoming a made man. Then you get promoted to join the ranks of the veterans.

That's all good idea. Like new users gotta post in bushes which is basically prison. Once we see their quality, they can come to the big leagues. The rest of the board. That way we can see those who add quality

The point is to keep out Trumpset and other such undesirables. We don't want this place overrun by those types of people, which is what happened last time registrations were open back in 2016 during the election year, the forum got absolutely swamped with new Trumpset posters. It is not the quality of new members' posting that matters, it's their quality as people and as members of our community that we want to be careful about
