The new President of CNN wanted to make the channel appealing more to conservatives because the previous President let the journalists strongly fact check Trump & Republicans for their wild and bold face lies to the point where the network came off as an anti-Trump/anti-conservative network in the eyes of conservatives. Don Lemon was the face of that. One of the first moves the new President made was to end Don Lemon's night show and put him on the early morning. He was replaced with someone who just does traditional news. The new President also has CNN cover more right wing political stories and had journalists cut back on fact checking lying Republican officials live on air as much.
