Respect the good & understand the bad
If you have money and want to be 'different' from everybody else, that's what you drive. I like how it's subtle, not in your face flashy. I wonder what's the power potential though :patrice:

I'm an 80s Mercedes man, but that E38 is off the charts.:win:

Not a lot of power potential with the M62 engine as far as internals go. Best bet is an engine swap from an Alpina X5m which will bolt directly to the stock tranny (still only 347hp) or tossing an LSx in it. There's a guy that makes a cnc conversion kit if you were to go the corvette route.

Or go with the e39 M5 s62 swap :takedat:

That too. I like the more bulletproofness of the other two options though. The e39 M5 is my GOAT, but I personally wouldn't want the headaches of maintaining the s62. The power to value ratio in the e38 body just wouldn't be worth it to me.

:russ: I had an e39 m5 for 5 years maintenance was no joke. And I worked on it myself:picard:

I love the idea of finding one of the classics in decent shape and just restoring to the image I want over time. I've always wanted to do this with an E28 in particular. :mjcry:

My brief love affair with bmw was a Tupac green e38 98 iL. Still one of the smoothest fkn rides I’ve ever been in. Wife would get in and fall right the fk to sleep every single time which was great because I didn’t have to hear her hacking about nonsense :lolbron:

Apparently that was the must have car for Nfl/NBA players in the 80s I want one bad but prices are shooting up.

Also :pacspit: at the e38, why couldn't Shuge not cheap out and get the bulletproof one that was offered at the time:mjcry:

I want one but only thing I'm concerned about is maintenance. Living in NY trying to work on your car on the side of the street is a pain in the ass. I need a crib with a personal garage :francis:

I'd also have to budget for that interior upholstery upgrade. It's a must. I'm BIG on car interior. Made me look past a lot of mechanical BS in my last whip because the interior was pristine and luxurious. No regrets in the end :wow: I wanted all the bells and whistles.
