My wife's family is from the St. Simon islands down in SC/GA. You should see the trickery these folks are trying to come up with to get them off their land. Trying to up taxes ten fold and other bs.

The good thing is people are getting more aware of it. The same shyt is happening here in South Philly. Some rich trust-fund Jewish guy has been gentrifying the area by buying houses, remodeling and selling them to white folks moving in. He tried to get elected for city council early this year and lost (after outspending a black incumbent 8 to 1).
But he's winning and the gentrification seems inevitable (like other areas of the city already have). There are two huge houses going up just behind mine right now.
Every week there's a sticker on my door handle asking me to sell.

Same with my in laws 2 family in Brownsville. They're getting nothing but calls to sell. It's tempting though....hearing 7 figures makes you go...

Same thing happened to my boy's mom, she's got a brownstone on Dean St near Kingston park. Hasidic Jews came to her house with a bag of money looking to buy on the spot... she was like

Yes brotha this the new hustle that has been going on the last 30 years. These folks realized that suburb life to escape blacks and latins doesn't work. You are far away from work and all the things the city offers.
So the hustle is ship the blacks and latins to the suburbs through the process of gentrification. In Chicago the hustle is to move a police station to a poor black or Latin community. Clean up the crime there then next close the local school so the kids can't go to school and the families have to move. Then finally tear down the projects and build town homes. Give the section 8 folks an opportunity to move somewhere like the suburbs.
White folks move in and buy houses and raise the taxes. The blacks that own homes can't afford the taxes because they jump from 3k or 4k a year to double that or triple that.
Add the 2008 housing market crash and the process speed up. In the south the process is a little harder because the cost of living is so low. But in places such as Chicago and New York gentrification happens over night.

Yep the thing is when you sell you can't find anything to even match where you came from...and them same folks will put up a fight to let you buy back in that neighborhood.

Bingo. I always believe that it you sell make them hoes pay out the ass. Case in point there was a black church in the heart of Lincoln park in chicago. Them white folks had been trying to buy that church for the last 30 years. Them yuppies couldn't stand to see all those black folks every sunday show up in that neighborhood.
Well the blacl folks that run the church finally sold last year. They made those white folks pay out the ass for that building. They had to pay at least 15 to 25 mill to buy that church building.

My uncle bought a Brownstone on 15th street and 4th Avenue in Park Slope back in 83 for $40k. He was an architect so he basically built that shyt up. Ended getting divorced, remarried and the chick he brought from Nigeria got "americanized" as he likes to call it and made him sell his spot for $750k 3 years ago in a divorce fight with her.And that joint is probably worth 5 times more than what they're offering
This dude is down in Atlanta bytchig me out on the phone crying about how the people he sold it to last week sold it for $2 million. I had to hang up the phone softly on him, he was going on and on and on and on about it in anger.
