In general, however, boy bands just don't have the clout like they used to in a western market. BTS have a international fanbase so their game goes beyond Asia and the US. They are on a global scale and can manage to sell out anywhere they go.

They have a good discography. They are better than the average kpop group. Well, their rapper line are levels beyond most. Their vocalists are very average but pull their weight.
They became famous because of their fast in synce choreography that go perfectly with their fast paced rapping.

I can't say why to black women specifically because not all black women think alike but kpop appeals to women of all ethnicities and all ages. I know thirty and forty year old black, white and Korean women into kpop. I know black men huge fans of girl groups, and it's rare when they go hard for a boy group. Straight black male fans are very quiet and don't really interact or get involved with fandom stuff. They like girl groups with visuals and talent.

But if you are worried that it's becoming a epidemic I wouldn't. There are more middle eastern, American Asian and south Asian fans than black fans in total.
