The thing thats funny about it is even after 16 years the plot of One Piece remains engaging. He has enough characters and foreshadowing going on that he has interesting plot to tell for years and years and the fans wont get burnt out (like bleach or naruto)
One Piece really is the GOAT

I agree. Unlike Bleach and Naruto (which I like but I want to end soon), I'm still waiting to see what'll happen in One Piece every week and I'm nowhere near ready for it to be over. There are tons of future fights and plotlines (such as the Void Century) that have to happen at some point down the line that I'm looking forward to.

But I do have to admit Oda does tend to drag things out a little more than he has to and introduce some unnecessary characters.

It's crazy to think that One Piece was originally only intended to run for about five years and that Oda's had the ending in mind from the start.

Picture me waiting for it t finish so I can binge on it. If he does take another 17 years, I'd be starting in 2034... When I'm 44 years. :flabbynsick:
i just want him to actually finish it. don't know if you ever heard of Zero no Tsukaima and granted its a light novel and it only went 7 years but right before the author was about to finish it he died of cancer so it will just be an unfinished work. the anime has its own original ending the author didn't make.

Yeah it would definitely suck if Oda never got to finish One Piece, it's his life's work. Especially considering he seems pretty confident that the ending will be good.

Nakata: Many are looking forward to what happens next in One Piece. Could you give us a message for them ?
Oda : One thing that motivates me to keep drawing One Piece is that I want to draw the last chapter. The last chapter is amazing ! I imagine a final chapter that will make the Marineford arc look like nothing.
Nakata : Seriously ?!
Oda : The Marineford arc really felt like a side trip to me. I didn’t expect it to be so popular. So I don’t know how readers will take this one. But the thing I think is really interesting will be in that last chapter. Until then, I’d like as many of the fans as possible to stick with me.
Nakata : Believe me, they will. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next, too !
Oda : Yessir !

:wow:

Watamote?

That show flopped?

I loved it....

I liked it as well, but it did shyt numbers. Something about how that character went against traditional Japanese norms of "togetherness", which is why they started to turn her into a "bytch" at the end.

Also the creator of the show had to neuter the show. She said IRL a girl like that would have been mocked and bullied, but no one would want to see that so they just made her ignored.

It had so much potential too. Such a shame.

I came up in the late 80s early 90s on anime..a lot of it back then was very dark and set around neo Tokyo or an apocalyptic world or city..I do miss that anime..80s anime seems like real Anime to me..I don't know how to explain it..but when I watch anime these days, I dont have that experiance like I do when I watch 80s and 90s anime..
