A lot of the revisionist history you see running rampant rn (in ALL sectors, btw) has roots in an american education system that cant even ensure that its graduates are LITERATE and the continuing erosion of trust in official sources following 9/11.

If smart ppl at the highest levels can just lie to our faces with no corrections or repurcussions, why believe any of them? Have they earned our trust? This aint the Cronkite era, even Brian Williams was proven a boldfaced liar. Consider: your average highschool graduate thinks theyre smarter and more 'on the ball' than several recent presidents, and theyre probably not wrong.

That said, i dont think the hotep theories are rooted in self hate. I think its simple ignorance and a lack of trust. There are some black archaeologists doing important work on our southern history and i dont think they get enough attention.
