Like you believe the 'scholarship' of Leo Weiner.......the 'White' man in the 1920's that came up with the whole argument that Africans were here earlier than Columbus.....

Check van Sertima 's book and you'll find the majority of his references come from here and a couple books on Pre-Colombian myths and legends.

I never said I believed that. I’m just saying don’t believe anything

Above the fray.
Jamar knows better , but he's been on the "bu bu but where Are the slave ships?" nonsense for years.

Full segment of his show with genealogist guest , discussing this topic (May 2018)

EVEN after the remains of The Clotilda were recovered a few years ago.

OH
Deep down, a lot of Black men and women are ashamed of our history, of being brought over as slaves and regarded as the bottom of the barrel in American society, the latter of which continues to this day.

The ever-so-frustrating irony is that with us having overcome slavery, Jim Crow laws, having fought in the Civil War AND Revolutionary War, and having led the charge for civil rights, it should actually instill us with MORE pride in our identity than some random 3rd generation white American whose grandparents arrived to Ellis Island in the 30's.

Sure, our past as Black people may not be as revered in the media as other groups in America (think of the glorification of knights, samurai, vikings, royal families, etc), but this grants us an ample opportunity to build towards a greater FUTURE.

Our past struggles and vilification should unite us, not instill us with low self-worth to the point that we believe in nonsense to mask our feelings of shame.

Many Black people prefer to live in the land of fan fiction and revisionist history, though. :snoop:

The real issue is we have a large group of black people so ashamed to be from Africa, and ashamed of the historical slavery fact, that they make up laughably ahistorical origin stories to make themselves feel better. This is bad, and frankly pretty sad.

We have ledgers, documents, ship records, journals, etc documenting the transmission of African slaves from Africa to North America. We have similar documents for Columbus and similar "explorers" who discovered North American "Indian" civilizations. It's certainly a fact that there was some level of trade or a relationship between ancient North Americans and Africans but there is no evidence there were millions of black people in America, who were enslaved. To the contrary we have evidence of Indians being enslaved initially before mass influxes of Africans...from Africa...on ships that are documented.

This goes back to the Kyrie thing and the way disinformation and stupidity run rampant. Stop believing what you want to hear because you're ashamed of one part of your heritage.

Thoth, the god of knowledge huh? You say you know your history, but it seems you do not even know that Thoth is the Greek name of the god.

So what history did you get this information from? What is your source for an ancient mythological god of Kemet... Wait, why am I even asking this question? You believing some story about a mythological being as being history is already enough to make a determination about the veracity of your statement.

Always wondered about these Olmec heads. Impossible to date really but they say 900BC. Makes you think what the difference is between history and HIStory, feel me?
Maybe it's my California bias but have y'all really never seen a non-black indigenous/Latino person before?!? That statue looks like my MEXICAN gardener or my local elote man.

Wrong the name of the Kemetic deity is Djehuty, the Greeks called it Thoth, Hermes was the messenger of the Gods of Olympus they are not the same, the Greeks merely thought they were due to their similarities, nothing more.

Anyone trying to equate Hermes Trismegistos to Djehuty need to have several seats, while I am at it.

I read somewhere they only directly transported like 6 percent of the African slaves to North America and during the trade many slaves escaped into other tribes or got mixed up with the captured people of those tribes.

I personally think the majority of my ancestry develops here.

I wouldn’t look at that as a bad thing op, it’s just the truth that many of us descendants of slaves have some really complicated and mysterious family lines cause of what went on, black folks just trying to get more understanding

The mods on here tagged (and removed) one of my posts on here in another thread as "disinformation" when I questioned how these crackers managed to put over a thousand slaves on a boat and how did they managed to keep them all fed and shyt.
