Because he would have more talent than he did at Baylor
And more competition against better coaches

Briles is better than Freeze & Mac. So its just Saban.
Say what you will about Baylor's defense, they had legit beasts the past 2-3 years and if you're winning 11 a year you're doing something right.

Tennessee was simply devastated with injuries.
9 of 22 starters out.
4 of the 5 starting offensive lineman out. We were playing two 3rd string freshmen at OT. One of which we were planning to redshirt that was placed into the game because we had nobody else.
3 of the top 4 DTs out. Hell Vickers also got hurt in the game.
3 of the top 4 LBs out. We had our 4th string outside LB (Elliot Berry) starting.
2 of our top 3 corners out. Had a true freshmen starting in place of Malik Foreman who was starting in place of Cam Sutton.
Total and absolute devastation based on injuries. That is what happened.
His track record isn't long enough to guarantee anything.
That said he ain't getting that job
