Underrated food city imo.
Had some of the best korean chicken and pho out there. Had maybe the best pork chop I ever had too.
I hear the street food scene in Tijuana and those small mexican coastal villages is crazy as well.
Weather is obviously 10/10 but it's barely any blacks and the ones i saw looked like bammas and it's not much going on outside of weekends down gaslamp

One of my favorite places in this country to visit. I definitely envision myself retiring out there at the very least. Not a lot of African American folks there but there is a heavy East African population.
You’re right. There is a heavy East African pop.

I’m from SD born and raised. I live in North Park now but grew up in Southeast. There’s a lot of diversity here but that’s by virtue of it being a military town for the most part, a lot of people are transplants or military that end up staying. The biggest downside is the cost of living but you can find decent places if you look. I had a 3 bdrm apt in North Park for $850.00 a month until I got married :yeshrug:

Only place I’d really want to leave SD for is Atlanta, but I get a lot of different opinions about moving there these days.

Where in oceanside? I lived there growing up i the 90s... 1563 corte daniel oceanside ca was my address if you wanna see the house on google maps...shyt makes me wanna cry sometimes, the 90s were :banderas:As a kid..was like 10 mins from the beach

I lived in fire mountain for a short while but that shyt was expensive so i moved to the piazza del oro.

That place feels like home to me. It's where my daughter spoke her first words and took her first steps. I'll never forget that place. :mjcry:

I'm thinking about relocating to San Diego. How is it to live there? Anyone on this board live there?
Did you ended up moving there? I been here for four years (I spent two years in LA) other than the cost of living and the spread out and smaller Black population, it's the best city I lived in.

We so spread out here we are translucent. But nothing can make me leave San Diego. I been here permanently since 97, been through the Marine Corps, Came of age here really, found a career, got married here had a child here, and got divorced here. But it's my adopted city/region and I love it. Get a foothold in something worthwhile out here and you can live here comfortably, high cost of living be damned.

It’s great. We got a house there and here in Los Angeles. Spend equal time in both areas and they’re only about 1.5 hours apart when you know when to leave.

The best thing to do is visit the cities multiple times. Don’t take anyone’s advice until you see and live in a city yourself for awhile.

I'll be copping an apartment in El Cajon when this BAH kicks in, in the fall.

It's amazing how many spots you can find for 13, 14, 1500 dollars.
I was getting 1800 a month back in 2011 . Had a nice spot in IB . Straight easy drive to Coronado. Hit the trophy lounge every weekend for the Westpac widows lol
