Try the surrounding areas (most people here still call it "Jackson").

Madison is nice, but

Pearl got the outlets and such

Ridgeland is basically Jackson's better looking twin sister

Brandon is a lil further away, but it's alright.

Hattiesburg
And
The gulf Coast

Are all decent areas to live
For a black man

Bruh jackson, hattiesburg and the coast have all three different vibes. And I feel like you lying about people moving to Jackson on the regular bruh. Metrocenter Mall which is supposed to the mall of the city is trash and nobody is even out and about around jackson like that. Everybody that live in Jackson do not "hang out" in Jackson. If they are local they most likely working to get out of Jackson and/or work for the nissan plant. The city has been getting boil water alerts since I don't know when. Honestly, the shyt is almost as bad I THINK detroit is supposed to be. If you are not in school or apart of the school experience or have family down there I don't know how you are able to tell another person that Jackson is a nice place to live.

The deep south states such as Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Georgia, and Arkansas? Collectively suck pretty bad.

Few high notes here and there with the NO, Atlanta and the college towns/touristy spots (oxford, Fayetteville, Athens, Savannah) but outside of that the Deep south has stifling poverty, obesity, high crime in Black areas because of the stifling poverty, lack of education, lack of federal money funding progressive people enhancing policies, an abundance of one horse towns......
