He was saying music that only plays as if it's played out of a car in the background of that particular place in time. That song played through the entire scene, even when Cutty wasn't there.

He was trying to escape his past, while it was gaining on him....He was trying to legitimize the front, but he just couldn't find his footing in that world....Because of who he was and the shyt that was going on around him. He was a man with no country.

Wire uses bit characters to play different roles.

The guy on the corner who sends Sherod and the other guy to beat up Namond.........appeared in an earlier season. When Bunk is looking for the gun taken from the cop, there's a montage of him talking to some prisoners who claim they can help him. The prisoner who says he's in there for multiple bodies and wants to be set free if he can locate the gun......is the same dude who runs the corner that Namond is bumping with a few seasons later.


The woman that Cutty goes back for...the school teacher. That woman plays the school teacher AND her own sister who is in the streets. Watch it again.....that's how Cutty locates the teacher....her "sister" tells him where she is.

Wee-Bey is the only person in the show who survives two shootouts with Omar


Omar shows very good judgement when sparing the lives of enforcers. He believes Brother Mouzone when he says he had nothing to do with killing and torturing Brandon. This leads to Mouzone basically forcing Avon to give up Stringer, so Mouzone and Omar can kill him.
He also believes Slim Charles when he says that Prop Joe had nothing to do with giving up Butchie. Slim stays alive and later kills the person who gave up Butch (Cheese), thus at least partly carrying out Omar's revenge.

When Bunk gets Dozerman's gun back from Omar, it's wrapped in the tie that Omar wore in court.
