Little Kevin got himself killed running his mouth. He didn't have to tell Randy what happened to Lex.

Kev got killed because Bodie was playing by the rules of the Barksdale organization and gave him advice based on that. Bodie didn't know Kev was connected to lining up that dude to get hit.
Him advising Kev to get ahead of getting picked up and explain that Marlo is what got him killed.

After, Randy tells Detective Thomas "Herc" Hauk about the incident. Detectives Herc and Kenneth Dozerman brought everyone in Bodie's crew under 5'6" and 150 lbs, not realizing the nickname was ironic. When Kevin's identity is confirmed, he is sent to central booking after refusing to cooperate in Herc's investigation. Stanfield suspects that Kevin is working with the police. When questioning him, Marlo finds out that he involved Randy instead of acting on his own. Kevin gets stuffed in a trunk and later found murdered by Stanfield's crew.
So if Herc never fukked up the Little Kev interrogation, then Kev wouldn't have known about Randy snitching, and then he wouldn't have felt worried about Marlo, and then he wouldn't have asked Bodie what to do, and then Bodie would have never told him to go to Marlo and admit what he did

Kenard debuts in season 3. After one of Omar’s shootouts with The Barksdale Crew Bunk arrives at the crime scene. He sees a group of small children re-enacting the shootout. Kenard can be seem saying “I’m Omar” while doing finger guns at another kid.

There's a lot of real life Baltimore inspirations/references for The Wire, and not just the more famous ones. Sometimes it will just seem like a random name they mention in passing but it turns out to be some street figure in Baltimore.'
Looking back at it all with 2021 eyes....you can boil Omars death down to a little kid clout chasing.

This happened to me too and i think i know why...right before season 5 of the wire aired they did a rerun of season 4. i think i watched the rerun of 4 into season 5 premiere and it blended in for me. I just got done watching season 5 and half the shyt that happened in that i thought happened in season 4.
Mcnulty and Carcetti shared that slut with the black hair at one point...and all 3 of em have herpes. Yeah they dont say it in the show but Mcnulty look like a herpes carrying mf....and if he aint got it i know shawty with the black hair got it cuz she just look like her p*ssy itch.

It's crazy how Omar was some legendary figure in the streets that inspired respect and fear but in the end his death didn't even get in the paper.
