Slim and Weebay were the top henchman/goons. Avon trusted these guys/respected them fully.

I think Avon let Slim know that Stringer was on some other shyt....so he knew not to give the update loud enough for Stringer to hear it.

Avon openly disrespects Stringer in front of Slim later (when String tries to order the hit on Clay) which shows you that at that point Slim was basically his number 2.....not String.
Wait blind butch was avons father? Dangelos uncle?

This is what you meant to quote
======
Butch stanford....

D'angelo mentioned his grandfather in conversation with bunk and McNulty in season one

When butchie is talking to omar about Avon he mentioned how evil he was

Any other mentions? Any way to tell how high he rose? Because it seems even though he had a name Avon was out on the corners very young and had to earn his spot and it was given

========

and no.. Butchie and Butch Stanford are two different characters.
Butchie says to Omar that "Stanford was evil and that his family(the barksdales) ain't no better"

everybody who died on this show were cornered. i dont think a single significant death happened in the open. i know shorty with omar got blasted in the street but she was still cornered in a way.

the major deaths they were outplayed & cornered. bodie was literally on his corner being cornered by snoop and chris.

omar was in a convenient store cornered with no way out.

stringer was cornered by omar and mouzone

prop joe was cornered in his own crib with no escape

snoop was cornered in the alley in the whip

even kimas near death she was boxed in.

i gotta rewatch season 2 but in a way frank sabotka was cornered.

deangelo cornering is obvious.

wallace upstairs in his crib with bodie and poot aiming at em

idk chess rules exactly but i think a tactic is to corner pieces to get check mates right?

You reaching with this 1 because with some of those deaths your changing what cornered means.

"MY grandfather was Butch Stamford. You know who he was in this town? We was raised in this shyt. My cousins...my uncles...I want what Wallace wanted. I want to start over...I dont care where. Anywhere. I just want to live like regular folk. You give me that? I give you them"

D’angelo was so full of shyt in hindsight. He had every opportunity to leave Baltimore. You not gonna tell me this nikka didn’t have $10,000 to $20,000, which is nothing based on how he was living, he could easily been in Arizona time zones away from anybody he knew and started over. He wanted that shyt. Then when it got hot for him, he wanted out. Typical clown shyt right there.

I agree to some extent. But did you see how uncomfortable he was outside of the circle he was in? When he and his girl went out to dinner IN BALTIMORE but in a downtown restaurant, he was anxious and insecure.

When he was complaining about feeling boxed in the game to the stripper, she pulled his card....she said "quit, do something else" He changed the subject real quick.
It was all he knew, all he felt he could do....sell drugs in Baltimore.

I think that's why he liked Wallace,was trying to encourage him to go back to school and do something else with his life.
