Christians specifically, but I know there's a substantial Muslim population in The Coli as well:

Why do you consciously sin?

If you think that there's a supernatural being, that constantly watches over you, and has a set of rules that he specifically wants you to follow, why don't you make a bigger effort not to break those rules?

If you think your God cannot be in the presence of sinful people, and will damn people who are not truly repentant for sins to a place of fire and torture and anguish ... why not devout your entire existence to that God? Why not set aside Earthly items, and focus solely on worshiping that being, spreading the gospel, and saving other souls who may not have heard the good news? Why do you need a job, why do you need money? Don't you think if you did this, God would provide for you?

I appreciate your thoughts, friends.

I consciously sin. I don't know how I will be judged for what I've done, but I feel like I have a different, complex perspective on the nature of God. I never consciously do EVIL though. I think that is the tipping point for me. I don't wanna go deep into the nature of god and philosophical arguments on this forum (for obvious reasons), but basically my perspective is that more of a deist, with monotheistic characteristics.

what kind of sins are you talking about? I don't consider having sex with your girlfriend some sort of act that will condemn me to hell

To me a mortal sin is killing someone with malice of premeditated intent or ruining someones life with an act that had malice (sorry studying for business law exam lol)

No human being, if he truly believed that his book was the EXACT word of God and God's commandments would EVER break it.

Because they have doubts deep down inside, in places they pretend don't exist, it causes them to "sin".

I'll say it again and take it as a life lesson: NO man who thinks their book is the LITERAL word of God would EVER break it.

Okay cool. So as a deist, what are your thoughts on a possible afterlife?

Well, I suppose that completely depends on your particular brand of theology. You're Catholic, right? I mean, I come from a Baptist church, and I was always taught that having sex before you're married, and murdering someone is seen as equally bad to Christ. How do you make that judgement as to what is an 'okay' sin, and what is a mortal sin?

it looks like mostly atheists are in here. lol

Well I grew up with a lot of religious friends and religious family. And religious people will do just as much "sin" or bad things as anyone else. In some cases more, think of all the murders that have been done in the name of religion, or because someones deity "told" them to.

Its confusing to me truthfully...
