They are no more their own character than Miles Morales is. Black Spider-Man black Superman still doesn’t negate the point they are just “black” versions of existing white characters. And everyone knows the best “black Superman” was Harvey Dent of earth 9 at least he was unique in his power set to the standard Superman.

Harvey Dent Superman was actually dope and powerful as fukk. Hell they should just make a character like that who is black, blue Marvel(from marvel) was ok and they tried to introduce him like Sentry but it didn’t quiet pop.
