Not too long ago our country agreed that smoking marijuana was wrong and made it illegal. Now that is changing. Our country also agreed at one point that being gay was wrong. Perceptions of right and wrong are pushed by public pressure.
Right now the public mostly agrees that children can't consent to sex, except in cases of child marriages that are still going on. Right now some people are saying that children should be able to claim their gender and sexual orientation at a young age. People with a vested interest may take that argument to say that if children can make those choices they should be able to decide whether to have sex. It's a bad argument that with enough support behind it lawmakers could potentially be swayed.
As soon as the pedo community find them a presidential candidate to secretly give campaign money laws will change for them just like the gay community did Obama

Fear mongering?? There's a lot that has been "normalized" in America that shouldn't be. Do you think 10 yr olds with IG accounts are normal?? Do you think the gay movement in the entertainment industry is normal? Do you think it's normal for gay rights to have preference over black civil rights and causes?? Just because it's illegal, doesn't mean that it's not prevalent and awareness of the issue.
