Age of consent is a "social construct", not even a strong one because we haven't even come to an agreed number here in the USA. There are like 5 different ages of consent based on what state you're in.

Y'all need to look to developed leftist countries to see where shyt is going. While the "children can't consent" argument is still holding strong, you have real debate about whether simulated sex with children should be illegal since no actual children are harmed.
You have people arguing that allowing pedos to masturbate to simulated child sex reinforces there orientation and makes them more likely to commit sexual abuse toward children, while you have people arguing that pedos are born that way, there is nothing you can do to change that, and by not giving them a "healthy" outlet to express their sexuality you're making them more likely to resort to sexual abuse.
I didn't comment on right and wrong. I just gave an example of a law being changed due to public opinion changing. If you want one not related to sexual orientation then look at the states currently legalizing marijuana. It's something that's changing because more people are becoming less bothered by it.
My point is that saying something is against the law as a reason why there will never be support for that thing is a terrible and shortsighted argument. Pedophilia is horrible and should remain illegal but if enough people decide to argue that it's not that bad and can gain support for such an argument based on the idea of tolerance or being born a certain way the laws can be changed.
