The receiver market will crash I think. After none if these teams that pay one win a ship.
What team this upcoming season would have to win the SB in order to cause a WR crash?

Please pick a realistic team with a chance*

They need to start being great again. Too many RBs getting burned out or are just plain inconsistent. Trend started with DeMarco Murray and has been going on every since.

+30 mil for a WR isn't going to work unless your QB is on a rookie deal or your Pittsburgh still in transition.

Houston is a great position with Nico getting 24 a year, Diggs on a 1 year rental, and Tank on a rookie deal.

Philly I can't explain. Howie works the cap like none other. They have a lot of younger players on defense not eating yet.

Dallas is in a jam because QB and pass rusher are more valuable than WR. Yeah, Dak hasn't gotten it done but I'm still waiting for someone to propose a viable replacement. Unless Trey steps up they're stuck with him or have to draft someone next year in weak QB draft. Lamb will have to be traded.

I can't really use KC's model because Mahomes is 1 of 1 and can elevate a bad WR group.

RB's will never bring in top dollar again. I think 14-16 mil is the ceiling.

Mahomes aside, how many of these "gotta have a QB" contracts led to a chip? Kirk on his 3rd big deal and his squads got what...2 playoffs wins to show for it? Beyond that WR is an extension of the QB. So as long as QBs are valued, WR will be too. Same with LT and pass rushers.

In order for a crash to happen those teams will need a Lamar-equivalent QB
That's not necessarily true

There's nothing indicating that teams are signing WRs to compensate for bad QB play. In fact, it's been the opposite, teams are signing WRs to pair with young QBs to further their development.

That's their calling card right now, once the QB in question gets the big money the WR then bounces to a team with a young QB that hasn't been paid yet. Like a big name WR will likely be in Chicago soon.

But eventually if enough of these "young QB, top dollar WR" combos fail teams will pivot elsewhere, whether it's O line, defense, RBs, etc. So WRs are fine right now, but that's just RIGHT NOW. The future is in question for that market

Its called extortion in most cases more than a negotiation. Its why QBs create this unwritten rule where they are sensitive to handle you drafting a QB in round 1 or 2 behind them. They basically tell owners that drafting a QB at 1 could hurt their confidence and effect their play. And these stupid ass owners actually buy that nonsense:mjlol:

Its alot easier to negotiate when you forbid teams to bring in competetion. My point is smart owners need to put their foot down. If great qbs are rare im collecting qbs in every draft in round 1 or 2. fukk what my underwhelming starting QB talking about:heh:

No other position is coddled in such a way,and now its hurting other players money. Players need to put their foot down too.

Atlanta just did that....

So you pretty much agreed with me....
As of now, there is no WR "crash".

What I'm saying is that team already won

We're waiting for the chess pieces to fall correctly now

Youre right but I don't think teams will see it this way

There's a reason herbert is being put on a pedestal
No one in their right mind thinks Herbert is anywhere close to Mahomes

What @Blessings is trying to tell you is that Chiefs model of winning is not replicable. Mahomes is one of a kind. And even with him this offense had its struggles.

Now, is a WR more replaceable than a QB just because of scarcity? Yeah.

If you want to look at a position crash aside from RB look at the safety market. Ever since teams started playing two high a lot, you either get an elite talent like Hamilton or you just pay peanuts for safeties because theres oversupply and not enough demand. A lot of vets can play the two high look.
