Never would have thought in 2012 that this is how the Matt Harvey story would end. I used to think Matt's confidence and cockiness was something this organization needed, turns out he wants just a piece of shyt. Numerous stars have gone down to get their act together, he was too big for that. I would hate to be matt harvey right now, knowing your body has failed you and will prevent you from making hundreds of millions. If this doesn't humble him I fully expect EMTs to find his swollen alcoholic dead body in ten years. With all that said I can't help but feel sad right now. After some really dark years as a mets fan he was the first glimmer of hope, a legit glimmer of hope. In 2013 we had a taste of what it was like like to watch gooden in 85, every Harvey start was must see TV. At his best, he was arguably the best pitcher in baseball, just sad to see it end like this
In 2015 he was pissed because he wanted an extension because, he might get injured and wanted to be financially secure. Dude then reneged on that after fan and organizational blowback and less than 6 months later blew out his shoulder.You're on your own.

If we don't keep at least one of deGrom or Thor (and lord help me it had better be both) I officially renounce my Mets fandom. And I've been through some dark mother fukking years. The 90's dark.
