Joel is going to die. Now when he dies might change. They might try to show some of the flashbacks with Ellie to give the viewer more understanding of where their relationship is. They might just show that in real time instead of after his death. Not sure how that plays on TV.

Joe's death is what literally sets up the story for part 2 , so people in this thread saying they going to keep joel alive or not kill him until the last episode of season 2 , make no sense. Season 2 Episode 1 will be joe's death.

I strongly disagree. The game design and story in the first is much tighter with little to no downtime. The second was much more bloated imo. Plus it has an entire stretch with a character a good chunk of the audience (whether y'all want to admit it or not) do not give a shyt about. The first one didn't have that problem... at all.

I think they'll introduce Abby's father much earlier in the show compared to the game so the audience develops empathy for him. I think one of the reasons ppl hated Abby in the game was because the doctor/Abby relationship was not developed properly. I mean, we seen him save a zebra and be a good father but ppl still don't care enough about him to justify Joel's death. Me personally, I grew to like Abby as the game progressed especially after she got caught by the Seraphites. Not because seeing her relationship with her father made me more empathetic to why she had to kill Joel to avenge him.

They'll definitely tighten that aspect of the story up in the show. In fact, I think a lot of ppl will hate Joel for killing Marlene and the doctor at the end of this current season. Heck, they might even introduce a younger Abby already in the current season.
