Game of Thrones was an ensemble show with a large cast.

Joel in the last of us is a 1B main character and the show has a smaller cast.

It’s not the same.

Gamers were upset with Joel’s outcome but kept playing as it’s a video game.

TV viewers will just switch off.

Do you not remember what happened with Glenn and The Walking Dead? (which was the biggest show on tv right up to that point).

I think this will be a slow burn series where they find a way to introduce Abby in a better pace
In which the audience will be more enduring to her as the show progresses
Now will Druckman ultimately

I don’t think he has the nuts to just for the simple fact that too many people still love her even after they slaughtered her original character/narrative and made her a straight psychopath out of thin air
But this is Druckman and this maybe his magnum opus and a fukk you to Bruce
Clearly Abby is suppose to become the franchise lead because it’s his creation
I seriously doubt he receives backlash unless he does my second spoiler

The show started April 2011. Season 1 got 2.5M viewers an episode. Season 2 it jumped to 11.6M an episode.
