In :blessed:

We're going to be a "surprise" top 4 seed. It shouldn't really be a surprise :martin: losing Horford was addition by subtraction.

BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT how can two teams BOTH benefit from the same player ? Celtics fans say theyre better because of Al,about to make a run at the ECF and now Hawkset says they better because of Al bout to be in that top 4....One of yall is lying.

Horford's strength is as a stretch 5 who doesn't have to bang and can just rely on his skill set (shooting, solid team D and being an overall solid player). He's not a physical player and he doesn't rebound. Just not his game. Celtics fans got a good player and I'm not gonna sit here and shyt on Al b/c I fukk with Al, but he's not getting you rebounds or playing PHYSICAL come playoff time.

I don't see this team as top 4 tho...Korver isn't a starter anymore and were banking on Dwight to stay healthy, Baze to take the next step and Dennis to be a consistent starting PG. Dennis was at his best as a change of pace guy...how will he do as the guy to keep the players calm, stay under control and execute the game plan? He and Bud have been at odds before, now he's the unquestioned starter. I think that's a huge question mark

If I had to guess I'd say 6-8 seed but probably more capable of being in the second round and being competitive in a 7 game series than last yr's team

Teams better than us:

CLE
TOR
Indy
BOS

You've got DET, NYK, us, CHA in the mix right after that

Didn't realize Sap had a procedure done on his knee this summer. He's gonna miss the first 3 weeks of training camp

“The knee feels good right now,” Millsap said Monday as the Hawks held media day to open training camp. “It feels good. The decision came when there was constant swelling. I would have swelling and I would rest it for a few days. It would go down but came right back when I got on (the court).”

The Hawks announced last week that Millsap underwent a preventive procedure that will sideline him. He is expected to miss at least the first two exhibition games. The issue arose during voluntary summer scrimmages.

Millsap said the procedure was not a platelet rich plasma injection.

“Timing is good now because it is preseason,” Millsap said. “I think it’s better to get a jump on the situation before it gets out of hand. For myself, it’s tough to sit out of practices for sit out of workouts especially at the beginning of the year. It will be my first training camp that I’m not really a part of. It’s going to be tough for me but I think it’s the best decision that we made.”

Millsap has been a constant for the Hawks during his three seasons. He has appeared in 228 regular-season games, including 81 last season.

“It’s not really a concern but it’s something that we are going to be cautious about,” Millsap said. “It’s a long season so the healthier the better.”

Yu underestimating Coach Bud's ability to develop talent. Dwight can play 50 games for all I care cuz it'all give us a chance to develop bigs behind him and that will give us depth come playoff time.

Edy is a marginal NBA player, Splitter is coming off a hip injury not sure what were gonna get from him. If Dwight isn't able to play 70-80 games this isn't a roster deep enough to make the playoffs. I give Bud and his staff all the credit but don't forget Bud's top player developer, Kenny Atkinson, coaches the Nets now. We need Dwight to play and play a significant amount of games especially now that Millsap is coming off knee surgery
