If you're a young 18 y/o this can happen. What you're saying sounds cool as a slogan or on a t-shirt but in reality society will continue to put them in the "street" category more than the non-street category. Most people don't have the will power of MLK.

Let's play devil's advocate... We see black graduations all the time doing the absolute most. These events are timed and scheduled. All the dancing and attention seeking holds everything and everyone up... The school probably has to pay the venue for violating time limit (maybe).. but we see this shyt happening at damn near every other celebratory black event. We can celebrate without always overdoing it. I'm sure the cop is there cuz the school got tired of the bs

So fukking what, they have not only capstoned 13 years of education but their family celebrates as well! Let them have their time in the sun, it’s a once in a lifetime feeling. Only thing I’m opposed to is throwing up gang signs and city girl type twerking. Everybody gets their 15-20 second claim to fame

We’ve had legit fights and even shootings at graduations down here before so I understand the presence but they don’t need to be hovering over the recently graduated. They will be harassed the rest of their lives by them so let the kids have one last day away from that panopticon surveillance

Breh I think back to my time in high school and the people who had literal tears in they eyes cause they couldn’t walk across the stage. Mfers who come to school every day on an empty stomach. Shorties knocked up and homeboy bounced on her. And some people will go “it’s just high school” which yes that’s true, but its funny style to me cause growning up you hear mfers on and on and on about how black people don’t value academic success or positive achievements or whatever bullshyt, well call me crazy dancing cause you graduated from high school seems like valuing to me
