From what I’m reading so far, you will be switched to Youtube music at the same price and can add YouTube Red for $2 or you can switch over YouTube Red subscription right now $9.99 and be grandfathered in (that’s what I did since I already was paying 10 bucks anyway).

Google doing it’s best to shut down the streams though.


I pay for hulu live but I’m probably gonna drop it too. I didn’t know Amazon had a college thing... i might do that as well

Just read YouTube's blog, looks like Google Music's cloud storage is staying, but Google Music subscribers are only getting upgraded to YouTube Music Premium and need to pay more to YouTube premium to extend the ad-free features to the rest of YouTube.

In other words, YouTube Red is being renamed and split in half, one for ad free, and the other for music only.

I got Google music family plan...so I have to pay extra for ad free now?
